MAYBANK MARATHON BALI 2019 WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Gianyar, 8 September 2019 – PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (Maybank Indonesia) successfully held Maybank Marathon Bali 2019 on Sunday 8 September 2019 in Bali. Celebrating its 8th event this year, Maybank Marathon remains consistent in ensuring runner’s safety and convenience, as well as health preparations prior to joining the marathon event. Participants indulged in the natural beauty of rural areas in Kabupaten Gianyar and Klungkung.

In Marathon Open Male category, Kirui Simon Kiprugut from Kenya with BIB number 1330 scored a time of 02:18:34, which made him the champion of Maybank Marathon this year. While for the Marathon Open Female category was taken by Chemutai Immaculate from Uganda with a time score of 02:42:08. After running a distance of 42,195 kilometer through the rural areas of Bali, Kirui Simon Kiprugut dan Chemutai Immaculate is entitled to a cash prize of 200 million Rupiah respectively, presented by President Director Maybank Taswin Zakaria.

The result for national category, Marathon National Male was taken by Agus Prayogo with a time of 2:36:09 while Marathon National Female category by Elvina Naibaho with a time of 2:56:08

Indonesian Athletics Association (Persatuan Atletik Seluruh Indonesia / PASI) has set Maybank Marathon 2019 as the qualifying event for the upcoming 2020 National Sports Games (Pekan Olahraga Nasional / PON) 2020) in Papua. Since 2013, Maybank Marathon has been the first full marathon in Indonesia that qualifies in the official race directory of Boston Marathon.

Maybank Marathon 2019 registered more than 11,600 runners from 50 countries including Indonesia, having the biggest number of participants. In total, the participants for this year’s marathon increased 10% from last year. Maybank Marathon ensures a sport event that upholds its international standard and consistently attracts all runners from around the globe.

For the Maybank Marathon 2019 event, Maybank Indonesia received great support from Bali Regional Administration, i.e. Kabupaten Gianyar, Kabupaten Klungkung, Kotamadya Denpasar to Bali Province. Consistent support also comes from Indonesian Athletics Association (Persatuan Atletik Seluruh Indonesia / PASI). Maybank Bali Marathon is an international level marathon held by Maybank Indonesia since 2012 that competes categories of full marathon with distance 42.195 km, half marathon (21.0975 km), and 10K (10 km).
